What is Change of Character (CHoCH)?

The first structural break against the trend — the earliest chart evidence that a reversal may be starting.

A Change of Character (CHoCH) is the first break of structure against the prevailing trend. In an uptrend, price is supposed to keep printing higher highs and higher lows; when it instead breaks below the most recent higher low, the character of the market has changed — buyers failed to defend the level that defined their control. It is the mirror of a BOS: a BOS confirms continuation, a CHoCH warns of possible reversal.

A CHoCH is early evidence, not a finished reversal, and treating it as an instant entry signal is a common way to get caught in a deep pullback. Professionals strengthen the signal with context: a CHoCH that follows a liquidity sweep of a major high or low, breaks the swing with displacement, and happens at a higher-timeframe zone of interest is far more reliable than one printed in the middle of nowhere. After a valid CHoCH, the usual plan is to wait for the retracement into the origin of the move and enter there with defined risk.

Roman Urdu mein

CHoCH woh pehla moment hai jab price trend ke khilaf structure torti hai — jaise uptrend mein aakhri higher low ka toot jana. Yeh reversal ki sab se pehli gawahi hai, lekin akeli CHoCH par entry na lein. Sweep, displacement aur higher timeframe zone ke saath mile to signal mazboot hota hai, phir pullback ka intezar karein.
