What is Currency Pair?
Two currencies quoted against each other, like EUR/USD — you always buy one and sell the other at the same time.
Currencies are always traded in pairs, because the value of one currency only exists relative to another. In EUR/USD, the euro is the base currency and the US dollar is the quote currency: a price of 1.0850 means one euro costs 1.0850 dollars. Buying the pair means buying euros and selling dollars simultaneously; selling the pair is the reverse. Every forex position is therefore a relative bet — you are never just buying something, you are choosing one economy over another.
Reading a pair correctly prevents a whole family of beginner mistakes. If you expect the dollar to strengthen, you sell EUR/USD but buy USD/JPY, because the dollar sits on opposite sides of those quotes. The pair also determines your pip value, your typical spread, and which trading sessions matter most for it. Before placing any trade, a trader should be able to say in one sentence which currency they expect to strengthen, against which, and why.
Roman Urdu mein
Forex mein currency hamesha pair mein trade hoti hai, kyunke ek currency ki value doosri ke muqable mein hi hoti hai. EUR/USD mein euro base hai aur dollar quote — 1.0850 ka matlab ek euro 1.0850 dollars ka hai. Pair kharidne ka matlab euro kharidna aur dollar bechna, ek hi waqt mein. Trade se pehle yeh clear hona chahiye ke kaunsi currency kis ke against strong ho rahi hai.
