What is Demo Account?

A demo account is a practice account funded with virtual money but connected to live or near-live market prices. It lets a new trader learn the platform, place every order type, test position sizing math and run a strategy through real market conditions without risking a rupee. Used properly — with a realistic starting balance and the same rules you would apply to real money — a demo is where a strategy earns the right to touch capital. The demo's limitation is the missing ingredient: consequence. Execution is often kinder than live (no requotes, gentler slippage), but the bigger gap is emotional — nobody feels fear or greed over virtual money, so demo results overstate how well you will follow your own rules under pressure. The professional bridge is graduation by evidence: a written plan, a journaled sample of demo trades with positive expectancy, then a small live account where the tuition of real emotions is paid at the lowest possible price.
