What is Altcoin?

Any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin — from established projects like Ethereum to thousands of speculative small-cap tokens.

An altcoin (alternative coin) is any cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin. The category is enormous and uneven: at one end sit established networks like Ethereum, with real usage and deep liquidity; in the middle, mid-cap projects tied to particular niches; and at the far end, thousands of thinly traded tokens and meme coins whose prices are driven almost purely by speculation and social media. Altcoins generally follow Bitcoin's direction but with amplified swings — rising harder in bull phases and collapsing harder in bear phases.

That amplification is the whole appeal and the whole danger. Small caps can multiply quickly, but they suffer brutal drawdowns, sudden liquidity vanishing acts, and outright scams such as rug pulls where developers drain the project and disappear. Sensible altcoin trading means staying in the liquid large caps, checking what a token actually does before buying its chart, and never holding a position on an exchange or wallet you have not verified. Most altcoins from any given cycle never reclaim their highs.

Roman Urdu mein

Bitcoin ke ilawa har cryptocurrency altcoin kehlati hai — Ethereum jaise mazboot projects se le kar hazaron meme coins tak. Altcoins Bitcoin ke peeche chalte hain lekin zyada shiddat se: bull mein zyada urte hain, bear mein zyada girte hain. Chote coins mein scam aur rug pull ka khatra haqeeqi hai. Liquid aur jaanay pehchanay coins tak mehdood rahein.
